Description
The OIVO Ergonomic Grip for Nintendo Switch 2 is primarily a handheld comfort accessory rather than a traditional protective case.
The Switch 2 slides into the grip, adding larger handles to the left and right sides of the console. This changes the way the system sits in your hands and is intended to give handheld play more of the feel of holding a conventional game controller.
OIVO uses an asymmetrical grip design rather than making both sides identical. The shape follows the different positions of the Switch 2’s analog sticks and buttons, with the goal of providing more natural hand placement during longer gaming sessions.
That makes this type of accessory particularly relevant for players who find the relatively flat shape of a handheld console uncomfortable after extended use.
The grip does surround parts of the system, but protection is not its main purpose. It should be viewed primarily as an ergonomic shell that changes the way the Switch 2 feels in your hands.
A built-in adjustable stand on the rear adds another use. The Switch 2 can be placed on a table for gaming or media viewing without requiring a separate tabletop stand.
Ventilation openings are incorporated into the rear structure so the grip and stand do not unnecessarily cover the console’s airflow areas.
Five physical game-card slots are built into the top of the grip. This gives you quick access to a small game collection without needing a separate game-card holder.
OIVO also includes four thumbstick caps that can be placed over the Joy-Con 2 analog sticks.
The grip is intended to be relatively lightweight and can be removed when you no longer want the added handles. However, the manufacturer specifically states that the Switch 2 needs to be used without another case already installed.

📝 Koinlift Notes
I would think of this much more like a Satisfye-style comfort grip than a normal Switch 2 protective case.
The main reason to buy it is the larger handles. If you are comfortable holding the Switch 2 normally, you probably don’t need something like this. But if your hands start feeling cramped during longer handheld sessions, this kind of grip can change the way the console feels quite a bit.
The asymmetrical design is also interesting. Instead of simply adding two generic handles, the grip shape is built around the different positions of the controls on each Joy-Con 2. That should make it feel closer to holding a regular controller than gripping the flat sides of the console.
I also like that OIVO did more with the space than just adding handles. The adjustable stand means you don’t necessarily have to carry a separate tabletop stand, and the five game slots are useful if you mainly buy physical games.
The game storage is especially convenient for short trips. Five slots aren’t enough for a large collection, but they are probably enough for the handful of games you would actually bring with you.
I wouldn’t buy this for protection, though. Calling it a “grip case” can make it sound like something similar to a protective shell from Mumba, JSAUX, or Skull & Co., but that isn’t really what this is designed to do.
Its purpose is ergonomics first.
That also means you shouldn’t expect to stack it on top of another protective case. OIVO specifically states that the Switch 2 needs to be bare before sliding it into the grip.
Another thing to consider is portability. Adding larger handles makes the Switch 2 more comfortable to hold, but it also makes the entire setup wider and thicker. A normal slim Switch 2 carrying case may no longer fit once this is installed.
If you plan to leave the grip attached most of the time, I would pair it with a carrying case or bag specifically designed for grip-equipped consoles.
OIVO is actually a fairly fitting brand for this type of accessory because it has produced similar asymmetrical ergonomic grips for previous Nintendo Switch models. This Switch 2 version appears to continue that same general idea rather than being a completely unrelated product.
Overall, I would look at this as a low-cost handheld comfort upgrade for Switch 2 players who want larger controller-style grips without replacing the Joy-Con 2 controllers themselves.
