Description
The Savage Raven GripCase for Nintendo Switch 2 combines an ergonomic handheld grip with a protective case while still allowing the system to move between handheld and docked play.
The biggest feature is the interchangeable grip system.
Instead of permanently molding one handle shape into the case, Savage Raven includes three different grip designs. This allows players to experiment with different sizes and shapes depending on their hand size and preferred way of holding the Switch 2.
That can make the GripCase particularly useful for longer handheld sessions or households where more than one person regularly uses the same console.
The GripCase itself uses a hybrid design. The upper section is made from softer, more flexible material, making it easier to fit around the Switch 2 and remove when necessary.
Once installed, the case adds protective coverage while also creating larger handholds around the Joy-Con 2 controllers.
This makes it different from the NeoGrip.
The NeoGrip is primarily a hard-shell ergonomic grip with some protective coverage, while the GripCase puts more emphasis on being a protective case and ergonomic grip at the same time.
The GripCase is also designed to remain installed when using a compatible Switch 2 dock setup. Players who regularly move between handheld and TV mode therefore do not necessarily have to remove their grip each time they want to dock the console.
GripCase-Only Option
Amazon also offers the GripCase by itself.
This is the better option if you already own a compatible carrying case or mainly plan to use the grip around the house.
You still get the protective shell and three interchangeable grip designs without paying for a second carrying accessory you may not need.
GripCase + MaxCarry Bundle
The other option includes the GripCase and MaxCarry carrying case together.
The MaxCarry is a larger hard-shell travel case designed around grip-equipped Switch setups.
It provides room for the console while the GripCase is installed, along with additional storage for games and accessories.
Its hard-shell construction and water-resistant exterior add significantly more travel protection than the open GripCase can provide by itself.
This makes the bundle especially useful for someone who intends to leave the GripCase installed most of the time and wants a carrying case that is already designed around its larger dimensions.
Instead of having to search for a third-party carrying case that may or may not fit the attached grips, the bundle gives you a matched setup from the same manufacturer.

📝 Koinlift Notes
This is probably one of the more complete grip setups in Savage Raven’s Switch 2 lineup because you’re getting the comfort advantage of interchangeable grips without giving up the protective-case side of the design.
Grip comfort is really subjective. Something that feels great with larger hands can feel oversized to someone else, and smaller grips can have the opposite problem. Being able to change the handles makes the GripCase safer to recommend than a fixed ergonomic case if you’re unsure what shape you prefer.
I also think the GripCase makes more sense than the NeoGrip if you want protection and ergonomics to carry roughly equal importance.
The NeoGrip is more obviously a grip accessory. The GripCase surrounds more of the console and is intended to act like an everyday protective case as well.
At the same time, it is still dock-friendly, which is important.
I would rather have a grip I can leave installed than constantly remove a protective case every time I switch to TV mode. If you use your Switch 2 both handheld and docked, that convenience can make a big difference over time.
The Amazon configuration is also useful because you don’t have to buy the MaxCarry case if you don’t need it.
If you already own a roomy Switch 2 case or mostly use the console at home, I would probably just buy the GripCase by itself.
If you’re starting from scratch, however, I think the bundle becomes much more appealing.
Grip-equipped consoles can be annoying when it comes to carrying cases. A case designed around a bare Switch 2 can easily be too narrow once larger ergonomic handles are installed.
The MaxCarry solves that problem because it’s designed to accommodate Savage Raven’s larger grip setups while giving you additional accessory storage.
That gives you a pretty complete arrangement:
GripCase while playing → leave it installed → put the entire setup into the MaxCarry when traveling.
It’s a particularly good combination for someone who spends a lot of time handheld but still wants to use the dock and travel with the same setup.
Savage Raven/Skull & Co. is also one of the more recognizable brands in this particular category. Ergonomic grips have been a major part of the company’s Nintendo accessory lineup for years, so this isn’t a random product category they recently entered.
The tradeoff is that you’re paying for a more specialized system than one of the very basic budget grip cases.
If you only need slightly larger handles, something like the StandGrip can accomplish that more simply.
But if you want interchangeable grips, protective coverage, dock compatibility, and an optional case designed specifically around the grip, I think the GripCase is one of the more complete choices in Savage Raven’s lineup.
